Tore pupil relatives’ artwork transforms school room.
A grandmother and mother of a pupil at a Ross-shire school have spent months transforming an old school office into a ‘support for learning room’ for pupils at Tore Primary.
Grandmother, Frances Wilson and mother, Rachel Di Mambro of Tore pupil Ben Di Mambro have spent much of their spare time over the summer, painting murals on the theme of the Wizard of Oz to convert the old office into a “Rainbow Room”.
Head Teacher, Lynne Caddell said: “We are very grateful to Frances and Rachel for this beautiful mural which has transformed our old office area. The Rainbow Room will be used for various purposes such as for pupil group work; as a ‘chill-out’ room for pupils; by the speech and language therapist; and for first aid.”
To mark the completion of the Rainbow Room and to express the school’s thanks, Chair of Tore Primary School Pupil Council, Lewis Murray and Pupil Council Vice Chair, Toni MacLeod presented Frances Wilson and Rachel Di Mambro with floral bouquets.
