Motorists asked to remember, remember, the 4th of November.
The City of Inverness Grand Bonfire and Fireworks Display will be held on Saturday (4th November) and a bumper crowd of between 10,000 and 15,000 is expected at Bught Park to see the show.
The Belenos Poi Group will stage a display of fire twirling at 6.30pm and the bonfire will be decorated by entries in the annual Build a Guy Competition sponsored by Inverness Leisure and Rollerbowl. The Guys will be judged by Provost William Smith shortly before the bonfire is lit at 6.45pm.
Fireworx Scotland Display Team will be firing the spectacular 20 minute display at the Bught which starts at 7pm.
Drivers are reminded that Bught Road will be closed for the duration of the event to non-residents and that the outer field which normally houses the car parking at the Highland Games will not be available as it will be used to accommodate the bonfire, funfair and spectators viewing areas on Saturday night.
Only Disabled Badge Holders and coaches will be allowed to park at the site.
Highland Council’s Events and Promotions Officer, Gerry Reynolds said: “We recommend that all spectators set off early and anyone travelling to the event by car allows themselves plenty of time to find a space in the car parks located in the city centre and then walk to the Bught.”
