Seater Recycling Centre to be closed for 60 weeks

The Recycling Centre at Seater Landfill Site will be closed to the public from Saturday 18th June 2016 to allow for the construction of landfill cells.

Local contractor John Gunn & Son has been awarded the construction contract, which will involve building the final two landfill cells for the site. The work is expected to take 60 weeks, and the site will be closed to members of the public for this time as a health and safety precaution.

The site will remain open to the Council’s bin collection vehicles, and to commercial waste customers throughout the duration of the contract.

Householders are advised to use Wick and Thurso Recycling Centres to dispose of their recycling and excess waste. Please ensure that items are segregated before arriving at the sites, to prevent recyclable items going to landfill. Both sites are open 7 days, 11am until 5pm (9am until 6pm Friday and Saturday, closed from 2pm until 2.30pm for lunch every day).
