‘Hungry for Success’

The I.C.T. team are not only ‘Hungry for Success’ this football season but some of the team were also hungry for lunch in the school dining hall after some Footworx training at Inverness Royal Academy.

The club are keen to encourage more pupils to make healthy lunchtime choices and very much support the work that has been done by the Highland Council Catering Service to implement the Scottish Executive’s ‘Hungry For Success’ initiative to improve school meals.

Following the launch at Inverness Royal Academy, some other members of the ICT team joined the pupils at Charleston Academy for Footworx sessions before enjoying a healthy lunch.  The initiative will now be rolled out to all other secondary school in the Inverness Area within the next few weeks.

All Secondary Schools across the Highlands offer a 2 course meal plus fruit juice and a selection of bread for £1.65. There is also a range of ‘Smart Snacks’ available such as baguettes, paninis, pizza and beef burgers made from 100% local beef.

All Primary Schools also offer a choice of freshly cooked main meals with soup or pudding every day for £1.50.

Footworx is a fun packed circuit class which uses football specific movements to improve co-ordination, fitness and endurance. It has been developed in such a way to ensure that people of all ages at any level of fitness can get involved and enjoy keeping fit in an upbeat fun environment.

Team ICT is focussed on providing high quality services like Footworx to the community in a bid to make healthy living accessible to everyone.
