New eBuilding Standards Portal
People submitting building standards applications to The Highland Council will benefit from a major new improvement to the Council’s digital services that will be on offer from Wednesday 24 August.
The eBuilding Standards Service will allow customers to submit all Building Standards applications to Highland Council electronically in the same way customers can already make planning applications electronically using ePlanning.
Councillor Audrey Sinclair, Chair of the Council’s Planning, Development and Infrastructure Committee said:
“This is an exciting new service, which will allow customers to submit applications to us 24 hours a day, and in so doing help them save time, printing and postage costs. Customers will also be able to submit follow up information electronically and share their applications with other parties using the new portal. If needs be, customers will be still be able to make paper applications (as with ePlanning) but these should be submitted to the Council’s eProcessing Centre at Council Headquarters.
“Given the successful uptake of the ePlanning Portal since its introduction in 2009, we expect the eBuildingStandards.scot Portal to be just as popular and would very much encourage customers to make use of this new online service.”
The Service is a new addition to Scottish Government’s eDevelopment.scot suite of online Services which already includes ePlanning.scot.
To access the new eBuildingStandards.scot Service, customers will need to create an account on eDevelopment.scot – both the ePlanning and eBuilding Standards Portals will both be accessible from eDevelopment.scot with one set of login details.
If customers already have an ePlanning.scot account and login details, they can use these login details to access the new eBuildingStandards.scot portal when it goes live on the 24 August. The new Portal will also be available here on Highland Council’s Building Standards web pages.
Throughout August the Council has been holding Customer Briefing Sessions to demonstrate the new Portal and inform customers of the changes in process. Details of what was covered at these sessions can be accessed here.
