Update on refurbishment of Thurso Leisure Centre
A spokesperson for The Highland Council said: “The Councils £2million refurbishment programme to the Thurso Leisure Centre is being slightly extended to allow additional works to be carried out to the building.
“During a regular project management meeting this week, those present including The Highland Council and the operator High Life Highland were informed by the main contractor O’Brien Construction Limited that the proposed handover date would be extended by four weeks as a result of additional improvement works being undertaken in the pool hall with the project completion date now being targeted for the 23rd December.
The spokesperson concluded: “The project team are confident that customers will be very pleased with the improvements that have been made to the leisure facilities in Thurso when it re-opens to the public in mid-January.”
The gym at Thurso pool has remained open and High Life cardholders from the pool continue to receive a 25% discount to their membership subscription during the refurbishment period and are able to make full use of other HLH facilities.
