Lochaber date for top comedian

BAFTA Award winning comedian Lee Mack, host of BBC One’s "They Think It’s All Over" will be performing at the Sunart Centre in Lochaber on Thursday 19 January, as part of a national tour.

Lee’s live performances have seen him nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award, and he has won the Time Out Best Live Comedy Award and was named 2005’s Best Stand-Up at the Loaded LAFTAS Awards

The past year has been busy for Lee. As well as completing a 37- date UK tour, he has written and starred in The Lee Mack Show on BBC Radio 2, and starred in an American version of The Sketch Show which is airing on primetime TV in the states.

Sunart Centre Development Co-ordinator Eoghan Carmichael said: "We are delighted that Lee Mack will be visiting our venue as his tour includes only 4 dates in Scotland. This show will be the only one in the Highlands so we expect tickets to be snapped up.

"It is a great chance for people to enjoy the unique atmosphere of quality live stand-up comedy. Tickets will make brilliant Christmas presents for fans of comedy. One of the press reviews says – "If it’s a barrel of belly-laughs and an achy jaw you’re after, Lee Mack cuts to the funny bone like a knife."

Tickets for the show, which is suitable for all ages under parental guidance (some swearing) cost £10 or £7 concession and are available now from Strontian Shop, Acharacle Post Office, Ardgour Stores, Lochaline Stores, the Granite House (Fort William) or by post from The Sunart Centre. Please send cheques made out to The Highland Council and enclose a SAE. They can also be booked online at www.thebooth.co.uk
