Council Finance staff receive training awards.
Six members of Highland Council’s Finance staff recently attended the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation (IRRV) Scottish Conference held in Crieff Hydro Hotel to receive certificates following examination successes.
The Highland Council’s Exchequer Training and Development team received a commendation from the Institute, and six of their students received certificates, which was the highest number of staff awarded from any one Scottish local authority.
Mairi MacCallum, Assistant Area Finance Manager and Sine Ross, Assistant Supervisor, both based at Lochaber House, Fort William received the IRRV Technician Certificate. Finance Assistants Mairi Williamson, Kerry MacKenzie, and John Mackay, together with Colleen McCulloch, Assistant Supervisor all based at Ross House in Dingwall, received SVQ’s in Housing and Council Tax Benefit.
Mairi, Kerry, John and Colleen are the first four members of Highland Council staff to receive the new SVQ awards that were funded by the Department for Work and Pensions.
At the conference Dawson Lamont, Highland Council’s Head of Exchequer, said: “The Highland Council is committed to staff training and development. I am proud of all our staff’s achievements. They have worked hard to receive their qualifications.”
