Leader responds to UK Government's Autumn Statement
Commenting on the UK Government’s Autumn Statement, Councillor Margaret Davidson said:
"I am disappointed that there will be no increase in revenue funding for Scotland and while it is for the Scottish Government to determine how it allocates its budget, I am very concerned that local government funding will be put under further pressure.
"I understand however, that there will be additional money for capital expenditure, which in England will be focused on housing, road infrastructure and digital. I am seeking a commitment from the Scottish Government that this additional money for Scotland, £800m over the next five years, will be used for a similar purpose and that Highland receives its fair share of these additional resources."
