Council appoints peninsula primary teacher
The Highland Council has appointed a primary teacher to take up post at Scoraig Primary school. Zoe Spyropoulos, currently teaching in Stroud will start at Scoraig in the New Year.
The school is located in the settlement of Scoraig – accessible only by boat - on a peninsula between Little Loch Broom and Loch Broom, south of Ullapool in Ross and Cromarty.
Current class teacher Stuart Benjafield who has been in post for the past year is leaving his employment with Highland Council at the end of this term He said: “I’ve loved teaching the children of Scoraig and enjoyed my time here, however for personal reasons I am moving on.”
Bill Alexander, Highland Council’s Director of Care and Learning said: “We welcome Zoe to her new job on Scoraig and wish Stuart all the best with his new ventures.”
