Street lighting and traffic signals
Radio communications
We have a network of vehicles using the airwave emergency service radios to communicate. These radios give direct one to one or group connectivity, and also allow us to contact Police Scotland direct in the event of an emergency.
We have our own dedicated radio workshop staff responsible for:
- The installation and maintenance of 60 icelert weather stations which provide important information for winter gritting fleets
- Maintenance of the safer schools 20 mph flashing lights
- Maintenance of the CCTV systems at Dalfaber and Aviemore level crossings
- Providing advice on public space CCTV projects to the chief executive
We also have 4 car park signs in and around Inverness which are remotely accessed by radio link to give current car park spaces to Rose Street Car Park, Falcon Gallery and Eastgate.
