Tourist Signs
VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance Scheme is coming to an end in March 2025.
Eligibility to apply for and retain Tourist Destination Signs is currently linked to participation in a Quality Assurance (QA) scheme. However, VisitScotland are no longer able to accept new members to the QA scheme.
It is a condition that destinations have obtained the accreditation letter from VisitScotland before The Highland Council will process applications for Tourist Signs. Therefore, any new applicants without a current award will not be able to join the scheme or apply for Tourist Destination Road Signs at this time. Destinations that currently hold an award may still apply.
VisitScotland will manage a transition period until 31 March 2025. Once VisitScotland have agreed on a way forward, this will be communicated on VisitScotland‘s website.
Following that, The Highland Council will consider the proposals and amend the existing policy.
