Consultations and petitions
Citizens' Panel
We are recruiting up to 2,000 residents across the Highlands to join our Citizens' Panel.
What is the Citizens' Panel?
The purpose of the our Citizens' Panel is to regularly consult with local people on a wide range of issues. We aim to ensure that membership of the Panel is broadly representative of a cross section of the population of the highlands.
We will ask Panel members for their views on a variety of issues such as their satisfaction with Council services. These include education, housing, social care, the environment, roads and transport, customer services and planning.
Why do we have a Citizens’ Panel?
The Citizens’ Panel enables us to regularly consult with local people and to use their feedback to improve and develop services.
It also enables us to:
- find out what issues are important to Highland residents.
- monitor the effectiveness of our services and identify areas for improvement.
- make changes to our services based on feedback from Panel members; and
- develop a good relationship with Highland residents by listening to what they tell us and taking action to address the issues they are concerned about.
How does it work?
We will send the Panel up to four surveys each year to complete and these can be completed online or on request, by paper. Each survey will remain open for around three weeks.
What do we do with the feedback?
We use the feedback provided by Panel members to improve and develop services to ensure they meet the needs of Highland residents. The results of the surveys and how we have responded will be added to this page.
