Inverness Winter fuel payment

Purpose of the fund

The Inverness winter fuel payment scheme supports residents in the following areas: Aird and Loch Ness, Inverness West, Inverness Central, Inverness Ness-side, Inverness Millburn, Culloden and Ardersier, and Inverness South.

If you live in one of these areas and believe you are eligible, you can apply before the deadline: Friday, 28 February 2025.

Who can apply?

You may qualify for the scheme if any of the following apply to you:

• You will be aged 90 or older on or before 28 February 2025 (savings are not considered).
• You received a Scottish Welfare Fund Crisis Grant between 1 December 2024 and 28 February 2025 (savings and earnings are not considered).
• You have a child under 5 living with you, and you receive one of the following benefits:
  • Income Support
  • Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Universal Credit
  • Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance

You may also qualify if you receive one of the following benefits and someone in your household receives a qualifying allowance:

Your Benefits:

• Incapacity Benefit
• Income Support
• Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
• Pension Credit (Savings Credit)
• Universal Credit

Household Allowances (must be received by someone in your household):

• Attendance Allowance or Pension Age Disability Payment
• Adult Disability Payment (daily living component)
• Armed Forces Independence Payment
• Child Disability Payment (middle or higher care component)
• Disability Living Allowance (middle or higher care component)
• Personal Independence Payment (daily living component)
• War Widow’s or War Widower’s Pension

Further eligibility

You must also confirm that no one in your household has earned wages this month or last month, and that your household savings or investments do not exceed £6,000.

• This does not apply if:
  • You are aged 90 or over by 28 February 2025
  • You received a Scottish Welfare Fund Crisis Grant between 1 December 2024 and 28 February 2025

Only one application is permitted per household
