Road safety week at Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis
Pupils at Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis are having a week long focus of events on road safety this week (Monday 7 – Friday 11 September).
Teachers and Junior Road Safety Officers will be reinforcing the Green Cross Code and looking at the dangers of road safety.
Junior Road Safety Officer, Maire Brown said: “I really enjoy being a JRSO because it is rewarding to help keep other people safe.”
Here JRSO colleague Adam Mitchell believes that: “It is important that we try to keep younger children safe.”
A colorful banner is being displayed outside the school to remind everyone visiting the school the importance of road safety and in particular the importance of driving slowly.
Acting Head Teacher Kirsteen Wells said: “Although road safety is vitally important to all our pupils all year round we feel it is especially important at the start of the new school term. With the new pupil intake and new parents and carers bringing children to school the dangers of the unfamiliar can be quite acute and we feel that it is important to remind everyone of road safety for all concerned.”
