Pay Award 2024-25
SJC Pay Award 2024-25
Dear Colleague,
Council Leaders have taken the decision to implement pay increases for employees whose terms and conditions of service come within the framework of the Scottish Joint Council (SJC) for Local Government Employees.
Implementation of the pay award at this stage means that Scottish Joint Council negotiations remain open, with the objective of reaching a collective agreement if possible. In the event that a different settlement is agreed through negotiation, this will be communicated and applied as soon as possible thereafter. It is however certain that the minimum pay award is as follows:
The pay uplift covers the period from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025
At each Spinal Column Point (SCP):
- a £0.67 uplift in the hourly rate (this will apply up to grades HC07, SCP30)
or
- a 3.6% uplift (this will apply HC07, SCP31 onward)
Those staff who are paid on first point of HC01 were given an increase to £12 per hour form £11.98 per hour effective from 1.4.24 to reflect the Scottish Real Living Wage Rate. Backpay therefore for staff on HC01 will be based on the difference between £12.00 per hour and the new rate of £12.56.
The backpay from 1 April 2024 will consist of the following where applicable:
- Basic pay
- Overtime
- Enhancements
- Holiday Pay for leavers
- Holiday Pay for overtime
